Components are not used to full potential

Hey guys, yesterday I've overclocked my PC for the first time ever. I've had this PC for quite some time and I decided to push it a bit further as my games got a bit choppy so I decided why not.

I've ran the benchmarks on both the CPU and GPU for an entire day and everything seemed fine. Both GPU and CPU never exceeded 75 celcius degree mark at 100% work load. Since I was done overclocking and everything seemed stable I launched some games to test the results and that's where stuff got really dissapointing. My GPU and CPU work on 100% load when in game but the temperatures hover around 55-60 celcius degree mark no matter how hard I try to push it, ultra settings, 200% resolution scaling, you name it I've tried it all on. The only difference is the FPS, temperatures stay the same.

Before Overclocking I've made sure to dust off my whole PC, changed the thermal paste and updated the BIOS. I've made sure that there are no optimal power options turned on both in Nvidia Control Panel and Windows.

I've tried uninstalling all my drivers, both on motherboard and GPU nothing seems to be working. I even uninstalled the MSI Afterburner OC software to see if my GPU will run hotter on stock but nothing seems to help. It's very weird to me because I have an okay cooling system. It's not water cooled but air cooled, enough to keep it going with a little OC.

I've made screenshots from CPU-Z and some games below to give you guys an idea of what's going on. I've done some quick 10 min benchmarks as well just to show the temps and stuff. As I've mentioned before I've done benchmarks on both CPU and GPU for an entire day so I don't think it's needed.

I wanted to point out again that my CPU and GPU seem to not want to go above 60 celcius degree mark when both working at full load. If you pay attention to the MSI Afterburner benchmark I've done, when GPU works on 98% load the CPU itself does not want to go above 60 degrees, never. I don't know if that's normal. Also the GPU load sometimes drops to 85% on the MSI Afterburner benchmark application, I have no idea if that is normal.

Here are my specs for a reference:

CPU - I5 4690K 3.5 (OC to 4.3)
GPU - 980TI 6GB G1 Windforce (OC 1440 GPU Clock, 7296 Mem Clock)
RAM - 16GB 1866MHZ DDR3
MOTHERBOARD - MSI Z97S Krait
PSU - 750W CX750M Modular Power Supply
CASE - Corsair 750D /w 5 fans without counting CPU cooler and GPU

I can't remember what my CPU cooler is but it's not some cheap stock Intel cooler, I bought it some time ago and it ran on decent temperatures compared to other coolers on the market so it should be good.

If is something required of me to show please do ask I will provide it as soon as I can.
Thank you for any help in advance.

The point of overclocking is to make your computer do more work in a given time frame. Not for it to run hotter. You say you had a difference in FPS? Did they increase?
