which components works when computer is in sleep mode? is processor and hdd work even in sleep mode. and difference between sleep and hibernate in term of components working in standby mode?

for a laptop,

sleep mode power's down the hard drive/SSD, screen, dedicated gpu and active cooling. to save power

the cpu and main board are still powered on.

for hibernate, a cache of the applications and files that we're open is stored temporarily, "so the computer remember what it was doing" then power's off the entire laptop.
