Would it be safe to buy new drive?
Ran Malwarebyes, it fixed some issues.

Now what?

I ran Toshiba diagnostic and listed results. It said hard drive passed. I ran malwarebyes and it fixed some issues. I still get error message about hard drive. Could it be network drivers? I backed up system and bought a new drive. Should I just go ahead and change drive? I have bought new drive and backed up system

@popatim is right, it's highly recommended to perform the HDD diagnostic test using your manufacturer's diagnostic tool. Chkdsk is a two-edged sword, so be careful when you run it. I'd also strongly recommend you to backup your data from the hard drive before proceeding with the troubleshooting.
The HDD can always be replaced, but if you don't have a backup of your files you might lose them.
I'd also check if your HDD is still under warranty using the manufacturer's website to do a warranty check.
