I have seen a lot of reviews on Vapochill and Prometeia cooling systems in the internet, and i have an idea building it by myself. But its working principle is not completely clear to me. So if anybody seen articles or reviews regarding to compressor cooling (phase change cooling) and building DIY compressor cooling unit, please send me a link.

I am even thinking about going with the VaporchillPE. Some insane speeds are reached... It cost less then the promethia to.

I am a puppet, hanging by a thread from the great AMD above. Instead of pulling me up, they are cutting me loose… Where I fall, into the harsh lands where Intel rules with an iron fist.

www.xtremesystems.org has a "phase change" section.

A few threads on building phase change systems including one by me.

IMO Prometeia is better than the Vapo. I dislike that Vapo runs off the PSU power, Prometeia mounting hardware is better, and Prometeia gets colder.

DO NOT believe the HardOCP article of 4.4Ghz, Take a peek at the PCMark score as it was done at less than 3.9Ghz (not 4.4Ghz)

Holicho (worlds fastest PC) who uses liquid nitrogen, veavy volt mods, dry ice, Turbo PLL, and years of experiance managed 3Dmark @ 4.2Ghz

Next best is JCViggen with 4.15Ghz on Prometeia.

Compressor cooling is not a problem, they have a 120MM fan in a "wind tunnel" type box to cool the condensor and compressor. If the loop is short enough, cold refridgerant gets back to the compressor keep it cool during operation. If you kink the line, refridgerant has a harder time returning to the compressor.

Pull the AC unit out of your car, replace the evaporator with a cooling block...

I am just surprised that they say you can o/c 800-1000 out of some processors. Hell I would be happy to gain higher then 400 out of this 1600xp, but this board... Well let’s say no o/cing for me. I like the vapo because at some places they sell for half the promethia "Though I would question its craftsmanship" so the promethia colder. Under full load and highly over clocked they shown still both in under -5c. But which is louder... I have no clue, and would be disappointed if one were noticeably louder then the other. But what I am trying to say, out of both of them you don’t have to worry about CPU over heating.
