Computer acting up, help?

The rig as it sits:
Ultra 650w Power Supply
Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 1Gb
Phenom II BE 1090T x6
Mushkin 8gb (2x4gb)
OCZ Agility 3 120gb SSD
Asus M4A78T-E Motherboard


I constantly play SWTOR, and keep a consistent 60fps. Until a night ago. When I logged into the game, I kept between 5-10fps. I turned the settings from max to low, to no avail. Still 5-10fps.

Now, it takes up to 5 minutes just to get past my motherboard logo. Not to mention actually boot up. Startup repair took near 10 minutes to get running, and found nothing wrong. I am at a loss of what to do. There are no virus's on the rig, after multiple scans. and up till last night ran flawless. Not to mention booted in under 30 seconds.

Temperatures are 38c for processor, 58c fot graphics card.

Its not overclocked in any way.

Power options are on high performance.

Wiping drivers did not help.

Please help, I dont know what to do and it only seems to get worse.

Advise you to check out and clean up and reassemble the rig from scratch.
The booting up taking so long also indicates to failing hardware components, could be the SSD..... check functioning temps and try a few benches to see if everything is fine with the SSD. Faulty SSD's can be a big pain a failing one's even worse.

Are those temps under load? or at Idle?
If the temps you have given are at idle, then the GPU is certainly getting a little too warm.
What sort of ambient temps is the rig in?
Arise in temps right from the startup of the rig could be an indication of a failing component or the PSU not giving the right currents.

Can you try a 'System Restore' to an earlier known good date like 2 days ago?

After running a test on the SSD (MHDD 4.6), it says the SSD is running great.

Those were under load, the ambient temperature is 70f - 75f.
Would a gpu cause slow startup times?

A system restore did not help.

A gpu should not have any affect on startup times. its more heavily based on the sata port and the speed of the HDD/SSD

Another reason for extended start times is too many programs being loaded startup. Check the start folder and disable (not delete) the programs that you are not going to use immediately..

Is your SSD (I assume Windows is installed there) still number 1 in the motherboards boot priority? The system wrongfully checking other drives could add to your boot time.

^ Yes! DVD drive should be on SATA 0, and the SSD boot drive on SATA 1 (the lower the SATA port number, the higher the priority)

Since it used to startup within 30 seconds, I think it's safe to assume that you haven't changed any settings physically inside the rig. No question of changing ports now or boot orders.
Somethings up with one of the components that's for sure and to isolate the problem you'll need to have nearly all components in spares, maybe older ones but you'll need another PSU, another HDD and a GPU.
Change one component at a time and see how it effects the boot time. Start with the GPU first, then the PSU and then the SSD.
Hope fully you might have spares and that might help you out.
