computer acts as if ctrl is pressed down- nothing helps

randomly every now and then it did it. at first i thought that it had problem due to my keyboard not being cleaned up in a while. i cleaned all the keys. then it happend again one time as if the alt key was pressed down, and then went back to act like the ctrl key was pressed. restart usually solved the problem but only temporary. i then tried to disconnect my keyboard and my mouse kept acting the same as if the ctrl was pressed down- even though the keyboard wasnt plugged in, and it kept going on this way even when i tried to use another mouse.

Ide be greatful for any solutions.
btw im using windows 8.1

Sounds like you enabled sticky keys, just disable it
