Computer always boots to BIOS instead of Windows.

Hi, I am having some frustrating trouble.

Rather than automatically booting to my NVMe SSD (Samsung 970 Pro), my system briefly shows me the RoG Logo, then forces me at the dead end (the American Megatrends display) and the only thing I can do from there is to go into my BIOS by pressing F1. In my BIOS, the only way I can get into windows is manually clicking the same SSD listed on the Boot Overdrive Menu.

I have installed and made sure all my drivers are updated. I have also set the Boot Priority to the SSD. There is no other storage solution in my PC. So what gives?

Hello jca8101

Can you p lease confirm if you added the new SSD recently, and installed Windows 10 to it while leaving the HDD connected? Sometime doing so causes trouble.

If it is an old computer, you can check if all the BIOS settings are set to default every time you start the computer? If this is the case, you may want to change the CMOS battery as the weak battery fails to preserve the BIOS settings.

Please report back with the results and more details to allow us to help you with more appropriate solutions.

Cheers!! :)

Hi, yes it is a completely new SSD that I installed to my new PC when I was building it. Every single part is brand new. I installed Windows by putting the Windows Installation to the USB, then installed Windows on the SSD. I took out the USB and proceeded to try and boot to windows, but ever since the start, I had always had to go to the BIOS and manually boot Windows from there.

Hello again

Also, please confirm if you installed Windows 10 on SSD while the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) was still connected to it? If so, many time the bootoader remains on the HDD, and this keeps Windows from booting from SSD.

Cheers!!

I'm not too sure..

Let's assume the worst and say that I did.. What should I do?
