Hey guys,

For the last 2 weeks or so my computer keeps crashing when playing CS:GO, sometimes soon as i get into a game or sometimes further in. I orginally thought it was a CPU over heating problem as my heatsink fan broke so i ordered a new one and that seems to be working perfectly and its a lot cooler to touch. My graphics card is running hot then i touch it so could that be the problem? its a 'XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card' and i have an i7 4790k. Any ideas on what to do would be appreciated!

Cheers

Interesting.
Your system specs are quite decent, and weird that it's just CSGO (I believe Rust is more demanding on a system than CSGO).
Alt/Tab out of a game and check your temps, or if that software allows you to display the temps while in-game, do that. You may also want to tweak video settings in-game (crank them or ease up to see effect on crashes..play with capping frames and v-sync, etc.
It's not too obvious to me why you'd crash in just that game. Maybe also try a reinstall of it?

Yeah its very odd indeed, this was the temps during the first game i played today on CS:GO, how does this look? https://gyazo.com/b4c8669b249cf61cd83960942f63dcff

Really not sure whats going on, it crashed again earlier and as soon as it rebooted i checked the temps and they were similar to the ones above.. is there anything else that could be causing it? or any other heat tests i can do? cheers mate

My monitors suddenly disconnected today and said no signal, i had to completely rebuild the pc whilst cleaning it and it seems that problem is now fixed.. could this be related to the crashing problem at all? i want to get to the bottom of this so i can replace the specific part if needed before i end up losing important uni work! cheers
