Computer always freezes while gaming

My friend and I built a PC last year and it's supposed to be a pretty good build. At first, everything was running smooth. But up until maybe April or May 2013, the system started to mess up. Whenever I am playing games, the computer will freeze completely. It's really irritating when this happens. If anyone has any ideas on how to possibly fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you updated to the latest display drivers?
What are your full specs?
Have you overclocked anything?
When it freezes, does it shut down or does it just freeze for a short while?

Yes, my drivers have been updated.

Specs:

CPU - AMD FX 8350 8 Cores
RAM - 8GB
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 7800
HDD - Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 ATA 1TB

I have not overclocked anything.

When it freezes, everything just stops moving and the only way to make it work again is to restart the computer via power button.
