Computer black screens while NOT in-game.

So, got a new one here; one of my PCs blacks out while NOT playing video games. It never does it if a game is open. Never. But often does it when doing things like browsing or video editing. Any ideas?

cant offer any real advice as theres a lack of information. what pc? what specs? what programs? what windows? but you can try below:

screensaver active as black background. games use a soft switch that removes windows ability to screensave (as in screensaver). disable screensaver.

youre on a laptop which has a gpu other than the mobo. the games use the gpu to play, and your windows programs use the mobo ... fault with your mobo gpu driver/ bois update req?

I doubt it's mobo related as I've swapped around several different ones. No, it's not a laptop. The mobo has no integrated GPU chips. Screensaver sounds more promising, thanks.
