Computer Boot Problems

Whenever I start my computer, it dies after a quick second and after a few seconds it boots up normally by itself. This started happening after I had to hold down my power button a few times while playing games because my computer would freeze up. I have seen this happen when a pc has booted for the first time. Any solutions?
