Windows XP for no apparent reason stoped booting. It will freeze up, during boot and then just restart again.
Now I have gotten it to go to the screen that says to choose Safe Mode or Normal mode, or Safe mode with Networking or safe mode with comand propt...
So no matter what I choose it just re-starts and the computer will cycle like that forever.
If I choose Safe Mode with comand propt, it goes so far as to List:
..........WINDOWSSystem32DRIVERSviaagp.sys
-and then re-starts.

Does that mean there is a problem with "viaagp.sys"?

viaagp.sys may be failing to load... or it could be another file that is failing just after it.

This problem sounds more like a hardware failure, though.

Boot from your XP CD. If that fails, it's a good indication that some hardware has failed. If it works, you'll get the option to repair the installation. You can try that, although it frequently doesn't work.
