So for the past few months my computer has been amazing. I have Windows 8.1 and a SSD as my boot drive and everything was snappy and fast on start-up. But now, when Windows loads (still snappy and fast as always) and I try to click into the box or press enter so I can type my log-in password nothing happens for sometimes up to 20-30secs.

Before I could press enter and the log-in would be immediately open to type but now it's slow and I can't figure out how to fix it. Anyone that has history or could help with this would be great. It's almost like Windows is still loading and then it allows me to start typing but this wasn't the case before.

if you have a USB keyboard and mouse, you might have another USB device plugged in that has issues.

try and unplug all the usb devices and reboot, if that fails try and plug your USB devices into another usb port. one that directly connects to your computers mother board rather than a hub.

I suspose if you have a wireless keyboard and mouse then your usb dongle that connects to the transmitter may be disconnected or moved too far from your desktop. (fallen off the desk or something, they only seem to transmit maybe 6 feet in open air)

- there could have been a windows updated usb driver that over wrote a custom driver with the same name.
