Computer boots up and then blue screens

I have just transferred my PC components over to my new PC case, with an ASrock Z87 Extreme 4 motherboard. Now, it gets to the 'Starting Windows' screen and then promptly blue screens and shuts down. I would appreciate and advice on how I can fix this issue. Thanks.

By transferring components, does that include the HDD/SSD with the OS without a clean install? If so, your problem is that the old machine was "too dissimilar" to the new one. You may be able to get by with just a fix instead of a total reinstall -- or maybe not.

First what motherboard did you come from?

Was your old build running AHCI SATA mode or IDE? The Z87 will be AHCI by default, so you could try changing that in your bios, you can repair that issue once you can start up.

Other than that, booting from a Windows 7 install disk and doing a system repair would be my first repair attempt.
