I'm currently building my first computer and i wanted to run it past you guys first. The only part I already own is the gpu and psu and I don't really want to spend much more than what the parts already cost. Willing to get a new psu if it's really important.

Mobo: GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170MX
Cpu: intel i5 6600k
Gpu: evga gtx 970 sc
Chassis: NZXT s340 red + black. (I'm super set on buying this case)
Psu: EVGA 600b
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400
WiFi card: ASUS PCE-AC68 Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n

Is everything compatible? The only thing I've yet to find is a cpu cooler. Any suggestions? Did I miss anything? And no, ethernet is not an option.

WOW! Want to copy me anymore!? Ha joking aside, thats my computer minus the intel. Good build. Id really recommend (Especially for our cases) a Corsair H110. The 240mm Rad looks nice mounted on the front and does a better than great job of cooling.

The cpu is super expensive, are there any cheaper excpetions? Also I currently have an Intel i7 920. They can be over clocked really well to +3.5Ghz. Can I use that for now and upgrade later or is it too old to be compatible with the mobo

The mobo is only 150 so if I have to change everything then I'll just suck it up and get the 6600k. My current computer is working ok right now just bottlenecking the shit out of my gpu. I wouldn't even need to upgrade if dell would have just included overclocking in the bios but the clock speed is only 2.67Ghz. It's waaaay too slow for modern games. The division came with my gpu when I bought it a couple weeks ago and I can barely play it on low settings. The comp has held up fairly well for being 7 years old, time to put it out of its misery.
