Hey guys, I just wanted to make completely sure that this build would work well for VR before I make the purchase. I would be using the computer for VR and currently have a 1080p monitor but will be buying a 1440p monitor. Here the build:

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler
Mobo: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit

Also I read that the Cooler comes with a ton of thermal paste so I wasn't planning on buying any unless you guys think I should. Thanks for the help!

Very good choice , opne of the best selling on the market.

Originally I had a 256 gb SSD and a 1 TB HDD but I switched to a 500 gb SSD. Do you think I will need an HDD?

You will tear through 500gb very quickly, operating system and a few AAA games will eat that up, unless you dont mind contantly deleting and installing things id get the 256 ssd for boot and fav games and the hdd for general storage.

Go with 500gb ssd and 1tb combo. 500GB would be enough for games you love. My entire steam library is only 133GB and that includes 50 games. Some of them I don't even touch at all. 1TB will be enough for storing games

Is there a certain HDD that you would recommend?

After some quick research it looks like a lot of people like the Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive so i will probably go with that.
