I was thinking of buying the following components:
AMD FX-6300
MSI GeForce GTX 970
Crucial DDR3 2x8GB 1600 C9
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3
240GB SSD
2TB HHD

Does anyone have tips for things that are better to buy?

I should add that most applications are not designed to utilise multi-threaded CPUs and only use one core. ON applications that use a larger number of cores AMD start catching up and in some instances even surpass Intel.

You can't look just at cache and other surface shit.
Look inside. Look at architecture and IPC and how well cores communicate. The fx 6300 is slightly worse and definitely very cheap, but loo at it I mean, the 30-50 percent increase will have you looking at a good deal faster editing.

I highly disagree. intel build will still outperform it. and OC on that board is horrible.
