Hello,

I recently got 2 MSI R6450 from a friend who upgraded his computer and I was wondering if these 2 cards will allow me to run Metro 2033. I don't have a desktop to try these graphic cards out so my second question is what would be an optimal build with a budget of $500 (not including mouse/keyboard/monitor). Also, I'm not sure whether to go with AMD or Intel.

And if possible, what how much FPS should I expect from the 2 MSI R6450?

Thanks!

You can't use two HD 6450's in gaming. You cannot run them on CrossfireX either. I think a HD 6450 would barely run Metro 2033 on lowest settings...

Something like this build should be fine:

I don't do crossfire setups, so I can't tell you how those two cards will work out. Should you go Intel or AMD? I'd say go intel, there's nothing wrong with AMD (notice I in fact run a Phenom II) but with Intel you can just go buy an I5 3570, and not have to worry about bottle necks for some time to come or if you can't afford it right away, a $100 I3 would handle those two cards (again though, I can't be sure). Then RAM and a Hard drive shouldn't cost anymore than $150, and a good PSU will run a bit lower than $100, Windows of course will cost $100 too assuming you want to run that (I used to run Xubuntu Linux, then I just happened upon this copy of Win7 32 bit).

Start with this cycle's $500 SBM build. The HD6450 is a HTPC card, not a gaming card. It might manage the lowest possible settings at a resolution like 1368x768, but unlikely any better.
Avoid the 500W Corsair V2 Builder; it was made by CWT, not Seasonic, using some inferior Samxon capacitors from a line known to experience early failure. Yes, it reviews well when new, but will it hold up? The FSP-built Antec VP-450 is a much safer choice; that's what's in the $500 SBM build.
