Computer can't run games like it used to

I used to be able to play games at 60+ fps. One day later I can't run anything without lagging hardcore. No game will let me play fast. I want to think it's a virus or something but I ran a few AVG scans only a couple viruses, they were removed and still no difference. Please help, thanks

Might you have a heat issue like a loosened cooler?

Have you run malwarebytes, free edition?

honestly, uninstall or just force close AVG and run 1 or 2 games and check for any difference.

45 is not high. Try replacing the thermal paste anyway

Although AVG is not the problem. I downloaded it today to see if I had viruses

that issue is either connected with your hard drive or any program u might have with a memory leak.
