Computer case help

Hello, recently I've been trying to upgrade me E-Machines, I've gotten new graphics card that doesn't fit because the case is too small. How do I know what case I can get that will be compatible with my motherboard. Pc wizard tells me my mainboard is eMachines EL1350, the tower is very small, compact. If I get a larger case, will it work with a smaller mother board? It seems to me the ports in the back won't line up with the motherboard if I try this.. Any ideas? What type of case do I have to get?

That all depends on if the motherboard is built to ATX standards. miniATX or microATX.

eMacines are/were nototious for being decidedly nonstandard. While I've not found anything on that particular model, the closest model number I can find, the EL1358, appears to be microATX form factor. And as such should fit in a newer. larger case.
Is that close enough? Who knows....After all, it's an eMachine.

I'm not too sure how I can decide if that's close enough, I'm not really all that computer savvy.. You think there's a tower that's the same as the compact one I have, just larger? My brother has a similar eMachine, just much larger. Though I don't think they sell the towers by themselves... Ponder ponder...

Study the board closely. It may be written on it.
If you feel like reading through the ATX 2.2 spec, here it is. Sizes, mount hole locations, connector locations...

Thank you very much for the references. I'm still not confident whatsoever to classify my motherboard, I have no experience with these things whatsoever. After looking at new egg's sale on an EL 1352, it looks exactly like mine, and it shows a picture of the insides. I feel incredibly stupid and lazy asking you this, but are you able to tell that this is an ATX form motherboard? I'm starting to think it isn't...
