Computer connection drops often

Often while im on my computer the connection will cut out but the icon in the bottom right stays as connected, either slows down drastically or stops completely. I use a wired connection and wireless devices such as my iPad don't disconnect. Normally happens on a Sunday.

i would reset the router and see if it is not overheathing that it have a air flow below it and the desk shelf .
