I have a problem with my computer failing to get out of sleep mode and be completely unresponsive to mouse clicks/keyboard. In addition whenever I restart the computer and it goes to the "Resuming Windows" screen it hangs on a black screen with a blinking bar in the top right corner and stays there indefinitely.

This is a very annoying issue and I want to resolve it immediately. Can somebody help?

Specs:
Win 7 Ultimate SP1
8GB RAM
Intel i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30 GHz
Geforce GTX 1060 6GB

what motherboard?
what PSU?
how many hdd?

Have you looked on motherboard website to make sure you have newest drivers as its likely a driver issue

Thanks for the reply.

Motherboard: Gigabyte H67MA-UD2H-B3
PSU: Antec Sonata 300 case with built in 500W PSU
Storage: 2 drives (one standard 1TB HDD and one 500GB SSD)

can you download and run driver view - all it does is looks at loaded drivers
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

when you run it, can you into view tab and set it to hide all microsoft drivers, that will make list shorter
can you take a screenshot showing from (and including) Driver name to (and including) Creation date.
Upload it an image sharing website and show link here. I can compare what is installed to whats on website and see if I can find any updates = https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherboard/GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3-rev-11/support#support-dl-driver

is windows on ssd? what is boot order in bios? the reaction tells me that BIOS can't find drive its trying to boot off, and just stops trying. How old is the boot drive?

Windows is installed on the SSD, yes. Although I don't remember what the boot order in the BIOS is. Boot drive is only a couple of years old.

Sorry, life got in the way

oh fun, no driver dates...

I would uninstall the applecharger (although I assumed it came with motherboard and I don't see it, so if its new, its up to you)
your installed version of Intel Management Engine Interface is older than the one on Gigabyte website for motherbaord and even older still than - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/67496/Intel-Management-Engine-Interface-Intel-MEI- but i don't think it covers your processor. Intel didn't make a version for win 10 on your chipset, and you can't grab newest of MB site as its for win 7 and win 10 won't let you install it.

You could update GPU drivers as installed ones from 2015.

try updating NIC drivers - https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software

Realtek Audio Drivers - don't use link in info box - https://www.tenforums.com/sound-audio/135259-latest-realtek-hd-audio-driver-version-2-a.html
wacom drivers up to date

Do you use Intel Rapid Storage Tech for anything? your version is from 2012, might want to remove it.

Gosh, we both missed he was on WIn 7. Still doesn't make finding a IMEI driver any easier. Version 7, which he has installed is newest Win 7 version I can find

I saw the gigabyte tool..

which bios version are you on?

he should try and upgrade to W10,might stil work.

And yes didn't see the windows 7 in the first post. Just saw you responding so responded to that.😁

He still could try the Intel Driver Assistant, see where that gets him.

Did check my link though to his motherboard,if i'm not mistaken is the version of the Intel Management Engine Interface still newer than what he has.

Sorry, I've been busy with my own life as well. I really meant to get back to this as I'm still having this problem. The computer either hangs on system resume or doesn't come out of hibernation at all, forcing me to restart.

Also, Windows 7 keeps telling me to update, but no matter how many times I try and install the update and restart, it always fails, and constantly hassles me to reboot the system when it NEVER installs the update. Is this related?

I have no idea which BIOS version I'm on. I never updated the bios, it's on factory default because I know flashing a new BIOS is something I'm not equipped to do.

Is it really the BIOS that's the issue? I still don't have any idea what the problem could be.

There's some dust buildup inside so it could be temperature related. I'm not entirely sure.

CoreTemp gives me this:

I haven't air-dusted this thing since late autumn of last year. Haven't been able to due to the cold temperatures outside. Don't want to risk condensation buildup from taking it outside where it's cold to inside where it's warm.

I don't have a garage to airdust it in either. So I'm not sure what to do.
