Put together my first pc a couple days ago, it was working as intended until while i was getting things set up for when my GPU arrives it crashed. It said that it encountered a problem and then shut off. After that i waited a bit before trying to power it back on. When powering on the fans and onboard lighting all come on but there is no signal to the monitor.

Had just installed windows 10 education 64 bit on the same day a couple hours before this occurred.

Specs:
intel i7 6700k 4.0Ghz

Asus Z170 pro gaming motherboard

500gb samsung 850 evo

Cooler master hyper 212 evo heatsink

Corsair 8GB (2x4GB)vengeance ram 2400mhz

EVGA 750GQ Power Supply

MSI GTX 1070 ARMOR 8GB OC

Please help

UPDATE 1:
Also doesn't even show "ASUS a search of incredible" when i turn on the computer.

Thinking if i should get the motherboard replaced by amazon.
possible a new one will work?

UPDATE 2:

got the motherboard replaced and also the power supply.
I still don't get a signal.

What were you doing when your system crashed? Did you plug something into the USB ports? Are you absolutely sure that you didn't do any mistake during the setup/installation process? What's your experience level? That said the first thing you should do is a CMOS/BIOS reset. Read your board's manual for specific instructions on how to do it.

Im still waiting for my GPU to arrive so there isn't one for now.

the only thing that was plugged into the usb port on the front was my usb for my keyboard and mouse. and just tried to reset the CMOS and it still is not outputting a signal.

that long to wait for a gpu am to me it seems like your inter graded gpu what monitor do you have and what version of windows if you have another gpu for now try that and try a diff mon. try resetting the cmos battery if no luck. turn on pc you can try to enter bios f2 or del even no its a blank screen try it then f10 to load factory default settings

i installed windows 10 on the pc before it shut off and i have AOC G2460PF monitor.
I don't even see the screen where it tells me to press Del to enter BIOS.
Do you think i should get it Replaced by amazon?

yea ano you cannot see the bios screen. just keep pressing f2 to get into bios then hit f10 to load system default set. if this does not work could you try on a diff monitor as this could be an issue. i have that board have win 10 myself here. im trying hardest to get to the problem here but that could be a number of issues from software faults , hardware faults etc. if it does not work when plugged into a diff monitor then yea i suggest a replacement then

tried the f2 then f10 method but still no signal.

thing is i don't have another monitor to test it on but i use the same monitor for my xbox and ps4 and the monitor gets a signal from them with the same hdmi cable.
i have used 3 types of outputs with the computer
HDMI, VGA and DisplayPort. all don't show anything.

When you said that it encountered a problem and then shut off, do you remember exactly the message? Generally those messages and then auto-shutdowns usually mean motherboard hardware damage but it could also be the PSU. You can use a spare PSU, if you happen to have one or borrow a PSU from a friend. You should also know that your current PSU isn't considered to be a good unit and in fact it shouldn't be able to power your new GPU. That specific GPU you ordered needs at least a 500W PSU. So you definitely need another good 550W+ PSU and you should start from there.

One last thing you could do is remove the 2 RAM sticks, then try to boot your system. If your PC case has an internal speaker, then you should hear some beep codes. If you do happen to have a speaker and you can't hear any beeps then your motherboard is likely dead or maybe your PSU has a malfunction and can't properly power the motherboard. If you don't know whether you have a speaker or not, then you can proceed with the installation of only one RAM stick and try using all the motherboard RAM slots and see what happens. If it doesn't work do the same thing with the 2nd RAM stick. If it works proceed with the installation of the other RAM module in order to make sure that both are working properly.

Also your motherboard could have debug leds that should warn you in case you have a component malfunction. Search your boards manual for more info. Usually motherboards have leds for CPU, memory and GPU that light up when one of them doesn't work.

If you do happen to have hardware damage somewhere it could be in the PSU or the motherboard, unless you weren't too careful during the installation or the setup process and you managed to somehow damage your CPU. Start with a new good PSU and proceed from there.

packed it up going to return it.
thanks for the help.

hi
just got the replacement motherboard and I'm still having the same problem. thinking that it could be sorted when the GPU arrives but also could be the CPU having problems.

had attempted it before with no change but decided to try again but still recieve now output.
I could return the CPU but it is only 12 days old. 🙁
oh well if the GPU doesn't fix it i will return the CPU.

Edit 1:
when you say clean do you mean the heat spreader on top or underneath?
I have cleaned the heat spreader every time i have taken it out.
if underneath how would you? :??:
