I got a virus or malware. I ran Windows Defender, and it deleted it. I opened the Control Panel, and I saw 2 programs that looked like they were virus protection programs. It was in the middle of the process of removing those files when my computer screen went black. I haven't been able to get it to boot up since. I did F12 & F2 Keys. It tried to restore, but it couldn't with F12. I needed a password for F2 boot-up, and I don't know the password.

Is there any way to get my laptop running again?

Thank you.

Because there's a password issue, we can't help you here. As basroil suggests, return it or my suggestion would be to take it to a local professional and prove ownership then let them work on the problem.

I'm leaving this thread open for now but ignore any suggestions on hacking the password. I will remove them as soon as possible,.
