Hi guys, ive had my com for like 1 year now (custom built) and only 2 days ago has it started crashing about 3 times a day. Once my computer crashes a blue screen appears (ive heard this is called the blue screen of death) and it has something about 'stop' or 'windows had to stop'. It then reboots quicker than i can read it and resets and acts normal for like 3 hours.

Any ideas? Will re installing windows help? (wil take ages though, hm)

I do have a spare motherboard so do you think its worth trying computer out with that to see if it fixes the problem?

Need more details really, but do these steps anyway;

Download Memtest86+ onto a USB drive/CD and boot from it by pressing F8 when you turn your PC On
Let it run for a few hours, if any errors show = faulty memory.

Then download/run Western Digital Drive Diagnostics, same again - do a full scan and wait till it's finished.

Have you installed any new software/hardware in the last few days before you received the Blue Screen? If so, uninstall the software/hardware and try using your PC again, try to recreate the problem with them out.

Thanks,
