Since Wednesday the 22nd of January, my computer has been crashing randomly when ever i go from the game to my desktop. It first happened when i was playing Take on Helicopters, i alt - tabbed out to check skype, and my whole computer crashed. Restarted and it was all ok. The day after i was playing something else, and it did the same thing, although this time, it was not a black screen, both my screens where green with static. When i restarted, it booted up to win 8.1 logo, and stopped before the start up noise played. Then it crashed again, it did this once or twice more, and worked again. And its been following this pattern for a while. First it will crash with a random color on screen. Then it will work on a reboot, then when it crashes again, it will have the random color static and refuse to reboot.
Because it occurs after a game, i have reason to believe it is a GPU problem. So i re-installed my driver, still did not work. Downgraded to the previous release, still crashes. I have removed the games i installed on that day, did a virus scan, ran a win 8 repair install, updated and downgraded all drivers + did a system restore to Monday. Still nothing works.
Any suggestions which hopefully don't include a full rebuild.
