Computer crashes with new graphics card (maybe PSU problem)

I recently upgraded my graphics card from Radeon HD 6670

to Radeon R7 265

Before this upgrade, everything would run fine and I could play games for hours. Now when playing graphic intense games (Dragon Age, Witcher, etc.), my computer would crash after about an hour (no overclocking).

Temperatures are fine during heavy load/gameplay. The highest temperature would be my graphics card (R7 265) at around 55-58 degrees Celsius (32 degrees when idle). I'm pretty sure it's not an overheating problem for I have good airflow in my case. Also, I didn't need a 6 pin power connector on my old HD 6670 like I do now with the r7 265 (if this helps).

I'm thinking that the problem is my 500w PSU:

Would that PSU be enough to supply my new graphics card along with the rest of the system?

I should also mention that the past couple of days, I would smell a slight plastic burning smell either from the card or psu. I could not see any difference on my card though (I doubt it's the card because it's not overheating).

If it is a PSU issue, I plan on getting this PSU:

to replace it.

Thanks for the reply. That certainly is a better option for a PSU, but are you saying it is a PSU problem? I wouldn't want to buy a new one if it isn't.

i don't yet know what the problem is. I know the PS you have isn't very good. I don't like the one you posted so I gave you an alternative.

the plastic smell could be the newness burning off the card or the card has a thin plastic sheet over the front of it to keep the card face from scratching and you forgot to peel it off.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been told that was a crap PSU (I had to use my better one on another build). I've also read that the smell could be the newness burning off you are talking about. It has only been a couple of days (I have peeled the plastic sheet off as well). I will certainly consider your suggested PSU after I've confirmed it is a PSU problem (though I'll probably still upgrade).

That better PSU on the other build I gave to my parents, and I cannot retrieve it any time soon. The crap one I have now was meant to be for that other build, but it was missing the needed extra cpu 4 pin, so I used my better PSU. In any case I will most likely need to buy a new one anyway.
