Computer crashing( blue screen) with new ram

so recently i upgraded the ram in my system from a 2x2 of crucial ballistix sport ddr3 1600mhz latency 9. to a set of patriot viper 2x4gb ddr3 1600mhz latency 9 and now my computer is crashing i have the Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard and an AMD fx-6300 as my CPU and suggestions to stop me getting this blue screen

it has identified both ram sticks in slot 3 and 4? (should i move them to 1+2) and has all the right info i am using RAMMon (is that the right program) it hasnt said any issues it says both ram sticks are the right amount of memory + speed

If it is being detected thats a good start, however I suggest you download memtest86, burn it to a disk and then thoroughly test your RAM. Even if it is being detected it could still be faulty. Also make sure you are running the ram with the proper timings, and voltage. Which exact kit of RAM are you using? Is it rated at 1.5v or 1.65v?

ram in slot 1 and 4 made no difference still crashed as did upping voltage to 1.55v my cpu is amd fx - 6300

i have moved the ram to slot 1 +2 and added the old ram to slot 3+4 so i now have 12gb no crashes have occured and if none happen within the next 12hours i will be very happy, assume my computer is fixed and choose a best answer
