Hello, about 3 months ago I built a pc, and this problem started happening about a month in. First my parts:
Intel i7-7700 with stock cooler.
Asus STRIX-GTX980-DC2OC-4GD5
Asus STRIX-Z270E Gaming Mobo
Samsung 850 EVO 500gb
EVGA 650 G2 Gold Power Supply
Windows 10
ViewSonic XG2701 27" Monitor

So, this happens mostly when I'm playing games (Heroes of the Storm, mostly) but sometimes when I'm just watching Netflix. My monitor will go blank, flash "NO INPUT DETECTED" The sound will stop going to the speakers for a few seconds, and then resume playing. But my monitor won't come back on and any keyboard commands I try won't work (Or at least, I can't alt-f4 out of programs, which I'm assuming means my keyboard isn't working.)

The weird part is, when I try to restart, it will show the mobo's logo and then go to a black screen with a white line through the middle. The line is about 60% of the way up the screen, an inch wide, horizontal, and has a few other colored pixels around it, like green and blue.

I thought it was the CPU overheating, so I lowered the threshold for the fan to go up in power, but that didn't seem to fix it. I can't find anything on Google about the problem. Please help!
Thank you guys.

Here is a picture of the actual restart glitch. The dark blue isn't visible but...1 dark blue dot, about 8 light blue dots, and then 3 more dark blue, all on top of the line.

Unfortunately the problem seems to happen randomly, I've found no way to replicate it. I was hoping someone had experienced something similar and knew for sure what it was.

Couple things it could be, including the monitor.

So removing the graphics card is a good step to start.

So remove it and use the PC and see if it happens again.

So it hasn't happened again yet, but I'm not sure that's indicative of anything. Something else I forgot to mention! When it happens the sound stutters on whatever it was playing for a few seconds and then goes back to normal, but I hear the windows error message sound (Like a dialog box popped up, but I can't read it, because the screen is black. Can't screenshot either.)

Just run without the graphics card for a day or 2 and see what happens.

You are using the HDMI sound on the graphics card right, makes since if you are when the sound shudders.

I have been having this problem too and I was wondering if you had a clear solution?

I open a game, 10-30 minutes in I have the exact same symptoms. And the monitor looks exactly the same. I was wondering if you found a fix for this. Some other symptoms include drivers uninstalling and the GPU's fans go full throttle.
