Recently my PC has been crashing on boot, and the next thing I'm going to try is a factory reset since all else has failed. I really want to keep my photos and documents from my C drive (Crucial MX300 2.5" 275GB SATA III 3D NAND) and wanted to know what the best way to do that was. Is it as easy as connecting a SATA-USB cable between it and my laptop and moving the files?

What is the laptop's brand and model? Without knowing the precise problem with your laptop, I suggest removing the SSD drive and connecting it to another system. With the other system, you can back up your data. Hopefully, the drive is not damaged or faulty.

Sorry if I wasn't clear: my PC is the one experiencing errors, and my laptop is fine. I want to connect my laptop to my SSD and copy over all of my photos and docs. Is that possible with just a SATA-USB Cable?
