Since around mid January I have had a problem with my computer where it would tell me that Windows has failed to start and that a recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
It then tells me to fix the problem I am to;
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click 'Next.'
3. Click 'Repair your computer.'
I've done this, it's the exact copy of Windows that I used to install to this computer however it will not repair and tells me it isn't.
To start the computer, I am having to unplug the CD/DVD Drive from the PSU if it is plugged in, or Plug it in to the PSU if it is not plugged in. Only then will it actually start Windows. I don't know what is wrong with it, but it just seemed one of those trial and error things I thought I'd get sorted one day.
However, today when I am trying to play games sometimes the screen will go black, I can still hear the game for maybe 2-5 seconds tops and then it's as if the computer restarts. (This will then tell me that Windows has failed to start.)
I was wondering what could be the cause of this, and how I would be able to fix it? My computer doesn't feel like it's overheating and I only built it September of last year.
My Specs:
MOBO: MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC
CPU : Intel i5-4690K @ 3.50GHz
RAM : Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB
GPU : MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Twin Frozr
PSU : Corsair RM750 — 750 Watt 80 PLUS Gold
