Three weeks ago I replaced the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and PSU in my computer. A couple of days ago it started freezing and then would only start momentarily or would start but not boot. I removed everything but the CPU and didn't get a POST code. I also reset the CMOS with the jumper, which similarly didn't help.

Is there anything else I can do that might help?

Motherboard: ASRock 970A-G
CPU: AMD FX-8320E
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series DDR3-1866

Hi Nuttynut, If you removed everything except the CPU, it is normal that you will not get into Post code (to be able to boot into post code, insert a RAM). Have you tried to test your hard drive? If the MB, CPU, RAM and PSU are all new, you should check and test your Hard drive or GPU if you have. But before anything else try to restore your OS to previous days before the freezing occur. Perhaps, it is just a software issue.

I inserted a Ram stick into the computer. Still no code. I also tried to run POST after unplugging the drives and after removing the GPU. Obviously, I am unable to do a System Restore in Windows.

Hello Nutty,

If you boot without a RAM, did you hear any sound? Please try to check your outlet's volts output if it can provide your PSU's needed volts (input). Try other outlets and also try other PSU.

I did not hear any sound, but I did get POST beeps. Looks like the problem was due to the ATX 12v connector not being properly secured. Opening the case likely dislodged it ever so slightly.
