I was using my computer earlier today until my computer began to freeze in the browsers. I decided to restart my computer but when I did for some reason I could not get access to the internet. When i checked my modem I restarted the modem to see if it would work. Still no response. So I checked my computer after I went into my network settings and did troubleshooting multiple times and nothing worked. On the back of my computer where the ethernet cable goes there was no led light that usually is blinking to indicate its recieving the internet connection. I need help quick I have alot of work to do & I work with AT&T doing customer service over a landline phone that I have with AT&T.

you say you are connected to the modem so this is a straight connect and not through a router? If so, do you have anything else that you can connect the modem to (another laptop or pc)? With trying a different cable and seeing if it will work with another device you can eleminate or discover if it is the cable or the modem itself.

Also, you say computer but is this a laptop or pc. Some laptops if not connected to power have a feature (that can be turned on or off) that shuts down the power to the ethernet port when it is unplugged to save battery life (the feature does not recognize that you want to use it, just knows if no electrical power shut it down). If this is the case you should be able to either turn that feature off or...
