Computer doesn’t boot

I know that a computer won’t boot without RAM, but i wanted to see if it would at least make noise or the fans would spin, but neither happened? Do I need a new PSU and Mobo or just RAM to boot?

Yes it is a new build.

and you made sure to flip the switch on the PSU to on ? right ?

if so then psu probably doa, and needs to be replaced/exchanged

Yes I did, i have contacted the retailer and will see if I can get it exchanged or refund the PSU. Thank you for your help.

why dont you check all cable connections and wait till you actually install the ram?

Even without the ram, the PSU is under load by the motherboard and its' fan would spin up, power the motherboard, and provoke a 3 beep error indicating no ram on motherboard error, hard drive would spin up, and case fans would run in default mode.

the psu needs replacement for the lack of any of those reasons.
