[SOLVED] Computer doesn't boot after ram change

So I'm really uneducated on computerparts and so forth, but from what I've seen changing up ram is really straight forward. I only had 2gb ram in my computer so I waned to install 8 more. At first I didn't push them in far enough but my computer still booted but I could see that it didn't recognize the new ram. (They weren't visible) so I shut it off again and painfully tried to push them in properly which was surprisingly hard.
After that I tried to turn my pc back on but the screen was black and my pc didn't boot. I turned it off and took the new ram out and tried to turn it on with my old ram again but it still doesn't boot.

I followed the whole "every two slots" and farthest away from the fan slots first but still nothing happens. The fans go off but nothing else happens when I turn my computer on.

Please help me, I'm afraid I've fried something or messed up my computer somehow.

Solution
I suggest clearing the CMOS (reset the BIOS) before starting up your system with the new memory. Refer to your motherboard's manual for instructions on how to do this.
