Hello Tomshardware.

I recently upgraded my computer by installing a new core, motherboard and RAM. So I installed this and got through without any trouble, but it wont recognize my graphics card, at all. I know it should be working correctly, since I used it before the upgrade.

I've tryed changing around on the PCI-E cables, but without different result.
Also, I've tried finding the card through the Device Manager, but without luck.
When trying to install the driver for the card, I just get an error and the installer tells it have failed.

I am extremely confused, since I've inserted the card as I did on my last motherboard. Both boards are from Gigabyte and the plug seems pretty much the same. What have I forgotten?

Thank you! :)

ok cool, so it isnt the card. Has to be one of those frustrating BIOS/setup/drivers deals then. Have you tried the PCIeX8 slot as well? Kinda odd they dont show up in the bios, why i suggested a cmos reset. Maybe it is a normal deal for that MB, but all mine show up in my bios.

I am only able to find PCI slots that leads from the Graphics Card into the Power Supply. The only "alike" slot is the 8 pin slot for power to the motherboard

Yes, the fans are running

Heres a link to how it looks. Can't find anything that looks like PCI-E there

It is indeed. In BIOS I tried to play a little around, in case the PCIEX16 wasn't selected. However in there I was only able to find PCI and PCI1-3

My PSU is 500 W. Should be able to keep up

EDIT: Also, tried to use the AMD driver autodetect software, it tells it was unable to find my AMD product

hmm it is getting power to the card fans on but no recognition. Try to reset the mobo, remove battery and do the jumper reset deal(CMOS reset*) since this is a all new setup basically. Also if you can try to test the card in another computer. Not looking good though, you buy this card used or what?

Everything I've bought has been new.

Basicly:

I had my computer but decided to update some things. I updated the motherboard, CPU and RAM. The GPU is the same as I used before, so I know it works.
