[SOLVED] Computer fails to boot after adding a third stick of RAM.

I have an Advent T9106 PC with a Pentium 4,512 MB of Ram and Windows XP. I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I have noticed that it is using all of the ram so I added an extra 512 MB of RAM and now it refuses to boot to windows. Upon booting, it asks me to start windows normally or launch startup repair. Both start loading but gets stuck. What shall I do?

and if you remove that new stick?

what is the exact model of the new and old ram stick?

Removing it causes it to boot normally. New stick is 512 MB ddr2 unsure of what brand though. The old stick is x2 Samsung 256MB ddr2

Adding extra memory to existing memory has no guarantee to be compatible together.

I suggest using modules made in the same batch.
