Hello

Recently my computer has been freezing a minute or so after booting up,
during the freeze the hard drive light is on and does not turn off until the computer unfreezes, also during the freeze I am able to move my mouse, the task manager and resource are not frozen but seemingly all other programs are frozen.
The computer also sometimes blue screens when booting up or after a while of windows running.

I am grateful for any help that can be provided

Here are my system specifications:
CPU: AMD FX8350
GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7850
Motherboard: ASRock 980DE3/U3S3
RAM: 2x PSD34G13332 4GB
Storage Drives: Seagate ST2000DM001-9YN164 2TB, Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB
Optical Drives: TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H353B, SONY DVD RW DW-G120A
Power Supply: Fatal1ty gaming gear 550W

Solution
look in event viewer for admin level errors, look for errors from the disk subsystem.
most likely from a solid state drive taking too long to respond but recovering after windows resets the drive after 30 seconds
(if it did not recover you would get a bugcheck)

if it is your SSD, make sure there is free space on it (say 20 %) and also boot into BIOS and let the system go idle for a while to allow the drive to run its internal cleanup routines.

see if that helps.
this type of error happens with more often with legacy versions of windows (windows 7 and below) and on older versions of Solid state driver

I ran memtest and memtest86 and no errors were detected.

Update, I took one of my RAM stick out and the freezing no longer seems to be occuring.

So be sure to update the CPU chipset drivers and any secondary SATA chip driver if it is connected to that port.

Lastly, there are issues where the drive can disconnect and not reconnect and those tend to be BIOS bugs or may be resolved by a BIOS update or
a change in the port hotswap setting in the BIOS. if you have that setting enable hotswap for the port. (still have the issue of the disconnect to figure out)

Solution

When I looked in the administrative events I noticed 2 error types that occur when the computer freezes
"The AODDriver4.1 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified", which I managed to solve by getting rid of the driver (still have AODDriver4.3
And the second error being "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort2."
removing AODDriver4.1 seems to have solved the problem but there are quite alot of the IdePort2 errors.
I only have one device connected by IDE cable, looked in the bios and there is no clear indication of what is on IdePort2.
If anybody know how to find out what is on IdePort2 I would be grateful.
