I recently started having an issue with my PC, at random times while gaming or having a game running in the background my computer will freeze and I have hard reset it. After restarting my PC either wont turn on the mouse and keyboard and monitor or will say overclocking failed and make me go into my BIOS which I don't change because I don't know too much and don't want to mess up my PC. I haven't overclocked my CPU but I believe my motherboard overclocks it by default.
I also didn't have this problem before I got my 1070 if that helps in the diagnosis

specs:
6700k
Asus Strix 1070
Asus z170 pro gaming
600w bronze evga supernova

Solution
if the bios says oc failed then try to disable the auto oc if possible, then see the results, but most common issue for pc to shutdown is thermal protections, or the gpu drivers went wrong
id say download open hardware monitor and msi afterburner and check the temps, both for the cpu and gpu, i used to have this issue when my cpu overheats , your cpu thermal margin is around 75 celcius ish
maybe try to repaste the cpu heatsink if it still continues
