Hey
I recently bought a zotac gtx 1060 mini to upgrade my older hp pavillion desktop.
I upgraded this computer a few years ago with a new power supply and a radeon hd 7850. I plugged everything in correctly etc, but when I try to boot it freezes at the hp logo and I can^t even enter bios. It then starts beeping in intervals of about 15 seconds. I read that it has something to do with legacy bios. I don't have an option to change to UEFI, but i have a list of UEFI and legacy boot sources. However my HDD is not a part of the UEFI boot options. I also tried unpluggin the HDD but it still freezes on startup. What can I do? I think it is a waste to build a new computer, since I have an i7-2600 and 8 gigs of ram which is enough for what I do. Yes I know I should'nt have bought a prebuilt computer but back then I knew nothing xD. I also can't return the graphics card since there is no return laws in my country. The motherboard is an Intel-h61 chipset. Could I just buy an old Motherboard that would be compatibel with the card and prozessor etc?. And where do I find old Motherboards?.

Remove the graphics card, download and install the latest BIOS if you haven't already. I read that your chipset is Intel-h61, but what is your motherboard manufacturer and model #? What is your power supply? If a HD 7850 worked then a GTX 1060 should as well. However I'd still like to know. What is the precise model of your HP computer? Perhaps someone online has already added a GTX 1060 to the exact same computer and already listed the pitfalls online.

Hey I already installed the newest Bios. The motherboard manufacturer is foxconn and the BIOS is from hp. It's a really cheap and shitty motherboard. The power supply is a be quiet 530w and should be more than enough since the 1060 doesn't need more power than 7850. The model is hp pavillion p6-2020.

I did some reasaerch and the exact motherboard is cuptertino h61. Here is a video of someone with the same problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkBTSlBW2oc. However I don't want to have to wait 5 minutes and press 10 buttons every time I start up the computer. Would a new motherboard like thise one work?: http://www.ebay.de/itm/ASUS-P8H61-M-LE-USB3-LGA-1155-Sockel-H2-Intel-Motherboard/222325041469?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38052%26meid%3D88f4f3e038b24a80bbd183f1841f4f4e%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D272487987823
