[SOLVED] Computer freezes at mother board screen after CPU upgrade

So recently I bought an i7 9700 to upgrade my CPU. After putting the CPU in and booting up my computer, I get stuck at the motherboard loading screen. I have a MSI B370M motherboard. Sometimes it gets stuck on this screen with an additional message "Preparing Automatic Repair". Initially there is a wheel that spins but after about 5 second, it just freezes. I have tried resetting my CMOS by removing the motherboard battery and putting it back in. I get stuck at the same loading screens.

When I put in my old CPU (I5 8400) my computer is able to start up fine.

I updated the BIOS prior to the update.
Any ideas?

Try a clean install.

I found the fix.

for some reason MSI only had one BIOS update on its site but after clicking different links for the same MB I found one with a bunch more up to date BIOS. Uploaded the newest one and fired right up.

I did have to reorder my boot order FYI
