Specs:

OS: Windows 10
CPU: AMD FX-9590
GPU: Radeon R9 Fury X
RAM: 4x4GB DDR3
Motherboard: 990FXA-UD3 F3
PSU: 750w EVGA PSU (don't remember the exact model, and the wattage may be a bit higher, but that's the right brand).
Storage: 1TB Samsung SSD

Problem: When I first built this PC, I had some issues with it freezing completely while playing games. It froze at unpredictable points, with no error messages, nothing in event viewer, and was only fixed via a hard reset. The system was completely frozen and didn't respond to any inputs at all; and when I added a second monitor, that monitor froze as well so it wasn't just restricted to the monitor playing the game. I resolved this by downclocking my CPU to 4.5mhz and setting Vcore to 1.5. This worked for a couple years, but now it's back, and happening regardless if I'm in a game or not. Same thing, no errors, no indication as to what is causing the issue, and I have no idea what to do. All temps are normal, no sign that anything is overheating. No strange noises coming from the PC.

What I've tried:
-Bumping up Vcore to 1.525
-Updating drivers
-Cleaning dust from computer
-Increasing virtual RAM

None of these have worked and I'm not sure what else to try. It's hard to replicate the freezing as it seems to happen at any point. Given that the issue last time was the CPU, I'm thinking that's what the issue is this time, and that it's not the GPU (as I initially thought), but I'm still not sure how to fix.

I'll give this a go and report back in a week once to give enough time to see if the issue reappears.

Should be revision 3, case is NZKT Phantom

This is my cooler

Memory part number I'm not sure off the top of my head. I'll find that out and double-check that I've got the revision number right on Tuesday once I'm free. Might be revision 4.

Using multiple memory kits is likely the cause of your freezing.

Memory is guaranteed in the form sold, in your case 8GB (2 x 4GB). When adding extra memory, regardless of brand or model number, the existing memory along with the new memory may no longer be able to operate at rated specifications.

G.Skill and other memory manufacturers don't guarantee combinations you happen to come up with that differ from a single item or single kit.

I'm not mixing and matching...it's all the same model, four sticks total. Unless you mean that the issue is that I shouldn't buy two identical kits; but if that's the case every computer I've ever built has had multiple kits and I haven't suffered an issue until now (and so far I'm not seeing any resources online that say combining two identical RAM kits causes issues).
