Computer freezes during gameplay and seems slow?

Hi, I didn't know which topic I should put this in, so I wrote this in a vague section; sorry if I put this in the wrong section. I have a problem on the speed of my computer and I have a question about a couple of possible solutions.

My problem is that whenever I'm on my desktop or when I'm playing high def games, like bf4 or dayz sa; my computer seems slow when I play them. For bf4, I have to put the settings on medium (like only 1 option is high) and I run it alright, but it staggers sometimes OR it freezes my computer. As for dayz sa, I have to put the video settings all at low/normal when I should be able to run it at at least normal setting. When I'm at my desktop/ internet browsing, it feels slow; slow as in I click on something but it takes a short delay or loading takes awhile.

Would it help "alot" if I were to upgrade my 8120 to an amd 9370? For those who recommend an intel cpu, I do not want to spend the money to buy another motherboard. Is my psu bottle necking my cpu or gpu?Also, would I have to upgrade my psu to a 600watt?

My hardware is
-AMD 8120 OC'd @ 4.0 ghz
-Asus gtx 760 oc edition
-Raidmax 530w psu
-Western Dig, 1tb hdd black
-Corsair vengeance 8gb (2x4gb) 1600 mhz
-Asrock 870 extreme 3 mb
-corsair h60 water cooling for cpu
-sp120 fans on the radiator + a thermaltake power fan (for better airflow)

I apologize for the large amount of questions.

PS- I regularly clean my computer of dust and unwanted programs and I try to take care of my computer.

My first concern is your PSU. Raidmax isn't known for building very good PSU's (I don't know your model that you have since it isn't listed). I tend to favor Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, PCP&C, & XFX based PSU's when shopping for a quality PSU. Usually a basic way to see if a PSU is a quality one, is to look at the warranty time. If it is at least 3 yrs. or better (5 yrs. is better) than you might have a decent built one. Most cheaper PSU's only come with 1 or 2 year warranty and are mis-labeled (like they say a 530w PSU, when in actuality it might only be a 350w one, by the specs.).

With all of that said, onto some of your questions.

I would first put your 8210 back to stock settings and see if that changes anything. Your GTX 760 should be fine for resolutions up to 1080p (if your using 1200p or even 1440p you might be pushing things a bit too much).

It is also possible that you HD is getting too hot and is limiting your speeds at idle or when doing basic tasks.

So the things that I'd consider changing/adding from your build, if it's not a temperature issue are:

* I'd consider upgrading your PSU to a quality 500w or even 550w (allowing your more OC'ing headroom and future upgrades too).
* Consider checking your temps on your system and maybe re-arrange your fan configuration to minimize your temperatures (maybe even adding additional fans).
* Consider adding an OS/Boot SSD drive to your build (256/240 gb ones are reaching $120-140 range all of the time).

If I were to upgrade my psu to a reliable psu, like a corsair 600w; would I be seeing an increase in performance?
As for the fans, I have a custom configuration to maximize my airflow by adding high performance corsair fans on my radiator and silent fans on my case. Like I'm idling at 18 degrees C.
As for adding in a ssd, I've heard that it conflicts with a normal hdd when installing programs. Like your pc will install programs onto the hdd instead of the ssd.
Also, I did some research and found out that my mb doesn't support an amd 9370, so would an upgrade to a 8350 be of much help?

* The PSU upgrade "normally" shouldn't affect your gaming/use of your computer, "Unless" your PSU is not outputting the correct voltages to your parts on your system. I only suggest upgrading to a quality PSU, because Raidmax isn't know for quality PSU's and also for mis-labeling the PSU's as a higher power PSU.
* If your idling at 18 C than it possible that your temps during gaming should be pretty good, but it's good to see what the temperatures are at during gaming. This is where your most likely to see how the PSU performs under load.
* An SSD DOESN'T conflict with a regular HD. The OS treats it just like any other HD you have on the system. I have a couple of SSD's and have NO issues with them interfering with any other HD's that I have. You just have to make sure that the game/app that you want to load on the SSD is pointed in the right direction.
* As far as the CPU upgrade is concerned, I wouldn't worry about it. the 8120 is a good CPU to have and the 8350 upgrade will help things a bit, but I would restore your CPU to a non-OC'd state to see if that changes your experience. If it does, that tells me that your PSU can't handle the extra load that you put on it by OC'ing the CPU.

You can have an ssd with an hdd, just change where the download or install file is. You could also get a large 120 or 240GB ssd on sale and have room left for whatever needs to go on the C Drive


I recommend you download this if you ever wonder what the temperature of your HDD is. Your Max should be 60c

Your issues really sounds like dying HDD, though I would test a new PSU. lunyone probably knows what he is talking about.
