Hello,
I recently upgraded my computer. Here are the specs:
Mobo: GA-Z87-DS3H Lga 1150
CPU: Intel core i5-4440s
GPU: MSI GeForce gtx 760
PSU: corsair CX750M
Memory: 8gb
OS: win 7 home prem 64bit
Parts run well and stay cool. However the comp locks up every 30 minutes or so, even when idle. Can't move mouse, reset, or hit caps lock.
What I did:
Tried new PSU, no change
Ran memtest, 5 cycles, no errors
Reformatted and reinstalled windows but this time did not instal any drivers: freezes stopped occurring.
At this point I installed mobo drivers one by one and allowed the comp to idle to see if crashes came back.
Only after I installed the Realtek 8111/8168 LAN driver for gigabit did the crashes start happening again. Unfortunately, the driver for this that came with the mobo disc is the most up to date driver on the MSI website (version 7.065.1025.2012).
I'm slowly (because of crashes) updating windows to see if it will fix this. Looking around on forums, it seems indicative of a mobo problem, and not a driver problem. Thoughts?
Thank you for any help.
