[SOLVED] Computer freezes every couple of minutes but able to still move the cursor.

Good afternoon,

I have been having an issue with my PC for a few months now. Whenever I'm using it, doesn't matter if I'm gaming, watching videos on YouTube etc. It would freeze up for about 10 seconds then start again. For instance in gaming it would freeze but the audio would keep going, when watching videos the video will freeze but the audio keeps going. When this happen, I'm still able to move the cursor with my mouse. I need help, I know basics but not that computer savvy. Could it possibly be the graphics card? I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. I already checked to see if the driver was updated through device manager. Is there anything else it can be besides this? Thanks in advance.

Update: Sometime audio do stop in videos. Once the video plays, it does a fast forward motion trying to catch up to where the video left of.

Also here are the specs of my computer.

Alienware Area 51
Processor: Intel Core i9-7980XE CPU @ 2.60GHz
RAM: 32.0 GB
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

Also, could it be possible that it's an issue with the monitor? I have an LG Ultrawide.

i would perform a fresh windows install to get a clean slate. from what you describe it kind of sounds like a PSU issue. what model do you have?
