I have tried numerous things to try and resolve this... but no luck thus far. here is what I have tried:

1. Install/Reinstall GPU drivers (and clean uninstalls)
2. Windows Troubleshooting (useless)
3. MSI afterburner to increase fan speed (not an overheating issue)
4. Flashed GPU BIOS
5. reinstalled all MOBO drivers

Here is the PC specs:
AMD FX-8320
Zalman CNPS5X
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Rev. 4
Cosrair Vengeance 8GB
Sandisk 64GB SSD + WD caviar blue 1TB
Sappire R9 290 4GB (reference - hence why I thought overheating issue)
OCZ Elitexstream 750W

Here is exactly what happens:
1. PC freezes, audio stutters for no more than 1 second.
2. PC reboots
3. slow reboot and graphical performance is sluggish. To get back to normal, it takes a few reboots or giving it time...

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
Hi there,

Most likely heat building up ! Heat slows down any (semi-)conductor !

Best to take out your GPU and check if there is dust !
Also check your CPU if there is dust in the airways on the cooling system !

Use a vacuum or a compressor (don't make the FAN turn but block it wit fingers or a pen. The force of the air will generate current towards the motherboard and blow up other parts !)

this will solve most speed problems.

here are some examples of dusted CPU cooler:

Would dust make for this issue? Its sporadic in nature... May happen in 5 minutes of gaming\pc use or in a couple days... I can never really pinpoint the cause because its never really the same issue causing it.

I have seen computers with around 1cm "carpet" of dust in the airway of the Processor 5CPU and GPU).

If the environlent looks clean it isn't always ! A computer is like a vacuum-cleaner with the only difference that the computer has no bag and is never emptied !

Anyway, this can maybe cause the issue but I think the damage has allready occurred, that's why it's random and according the temperature.

Let us know what you see Inside.
Cheers, Louise.

No dust... as anticipated since I built this up less than a few months ago (and built back up in a new case).

I doubt its a temperature issue since I have yet to record VRAM above 80C and running 3D Mark continuously doesn't cause any random reboots...
