Hi, I've been having an issue with a computer I built. The components are as follows:
Motherboard: MSI 970
CPU: AMD FX-8350
RAM: 8 Gb (2x4)
GPU: MSI GTX 1050 Ti
PSU: EVGA 400 N1 (400W)
Symptoms:
Within 15 minutes of boot, the computer freezes. It will not respond to any input, and the only way to recover is to kill the power. This has happened on both Windows 10 and Debian. I have used multiple hard drives to ensure it isn't a hard drive issue.
Troubleshooting steps taken:
I have tried reseating every component on the board, I have tried booting with only one RAM stick and switching their slots, I have tried multiple hard drives, multiple clean installs of windows, and even Debian. None of this have dealt with the issue. The device can run indefinitely in BIOS, but the minute it hits desktop (one time it froze on login screen) it freezes. It has never frozen during installation. Currently it has been running stable in bios for an hour and it is idling at 18 C for the CPU and 26 C for the board.
This issue started after I had to replace the previous motherboard, and I upgraded the CPU from the AMD FX-6300.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
