Computer freezes on most video players that AREN'T youtube

I'm assuming my problem is flash related, but I'm not sure. When using video players from smaller sites (i.e. not youtube) the majority of the time my computer will freeze (as in the screen is frozen how it is, forcing my to hold the power button on my case to restart it).

I've been looking in forums for years and unless I'm blind, I've tried a LOT of different solutions that simply haven't worked for me.

My specs are as follow:
8350 @ 4.3ghz
290 @ Stock
M5A97 R2.0
8GB Adata RAM (from a prebuilt)
500GB 850 EVO
1TB WD Blue

When I go to install it, I get a message saying "Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available."

Bump? Still freezing fairly often from video players.
