Hi,

I have an computer with the following details:
Motherboard: Asrock P4VT8+ Asrock P4VT8+
Processor Intel Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz
Powersupply:powertronics 500W
Memory: 1GB (2x512)

The problem is the following. The computer was working good and suddenly it started to freeze once in a while. I could start up in windows but after while (randomly) it freezed and i had to push the power button. It acted the same when i started it in failsafe mode without network.

I downloaded the Ultimate bood CD to do some testings. As soon as i push the computer a little it freezes. If i just let it startup and load the menu (UBCD) then it continues to run. I have run Memtest and CPU tests and it freezes after a minute and so.

The memory i have tried to run in different configurations and in different slots but without any luck. I have also tried anohter video card the same result there.

I have had a closer look at the motherboard to see if there is any visible damages but i cannot see anything.

What do you think? Is there anymore test i could do or is it 100% the motherboard.

Many thanks in advance...

The computer just jams it dosen´t respond to mouse or keyboard events.

Do you know about any good program where you can stress the computer and see the temp and voltage at the same time ?

Doesn't sound like you need to stress the components. Just go into the bios, there is usually (if Asrock uses the American Megatrends Bios like my present one does then it doe) a temp monitoring. Just leave it like that for 20 minutes. If it crashes tell us what temp it crashes at

Hi,

I leaved the computer on for a while, it was more than 30 minutes. I had to go to work. Now when i came back it was freezed again. The details below are from within the bios section where you can see the temperature and voltage.

CPU Temp : 50º
M/B Temp : 24º
CPU Fan 2860 RPM

VCORE 1.10
+3.30 3.26V
+5.00 4.70V
+12.00 12.28V

That should be interesting...
Your cpu is running too hot at idle, but not enough to cause trouble.
Your supply voltages are out of spec (3%) and are all over the map.
Usually if a PowerSupply is off, all voltages are either high or low, not both.
