Hello guys my PC started freezing a month ago.back then before I format it it was freezing and then blue screen and then shut down. When I was trying to open it it wasn't opening some times, I desides to format and it was working fine for a week and yesterday it freezed again but if I move the mouse its changing position every 5-6 seconds but I can't do anything... What might be the problem? I have windows 7 ultimate
Geforce 7900gs Intel pentium d 3.4ghz PSU turbox 400w

Solution
I would recomend you go through your event logs
Start > Right click 'Computer' > Select 'Manage'
The Computer Management window will open.
'System Tools' > 'Event Viewer' > Windows Logs
Now look under 'Application' and 'System'. Best way is to sort by 'Date and Time' then look through the timeframe your PC froze or restarted. If there's an error that looks fishy google the Event ID and that will give you a new path.

Good Luck!
Hey, nitzamc!

The cause of the problem can be anything like heat, bad RAM, failing HDD or GPU, a virus, etc. Usually random freezes without BSOD are difficult to determine.
But you could try these things and see if anything works for you:
- I suggest you run system file check in the Command prompt. Run it as administrator and type > sfc.exe /scannow
- I'd suggest diagnosing memory problems as well:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer
- If it's a heat problem, I found a thread that can be useful:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/304150-33-random-freezes-crashes-fixed-heat-problems#t2270364
- Another article that can give you some guidance:

If nothing works on the freezes, it's most probably a hardware problem and you should ask a tech support for assitance. :(
However, I hope you find your solution here!
Good luck and keep me posted!

I dont think its a heat problem its definitely a hardware problem does the freezes occurs while doing any particular tasks or just in idle ?

check if you get these issues in safe mode.

if you are using a GPU then remove it and boot without it for checking .

Do a memtest for ram and scan your hdd for badsectors.

Some times it freezes when I'm browsing the internet. Guys its a hardware problem because I format the PC and it freezes again.the HDD is more than 5 years old same as GPU RAM and motherboard.what memset is??

Check the HDD, nitzamc!

Run check disk in cmd (run as administrator)
type > chkdsk x: /r (where x - is the drive letter assigned to your HDD)
memtest stands for Memory test. Here's a link that might help you with these diagnostics:

Hope this helps!
